Houstonians, Adopt a New to You Pet.

Our shelters are overcrowded with best friends. There are adoption specials going on for the next week. If you're considering adopting a pet now is a great time.

Here's all the info: 

BARC Offers Half-Price Pet Adoptions through July 10, 2010

New Hours Make Finding That Perfect Pet More Convenient
 
The City of Houston's Animal Regulation and Care (BARC) facility encourages residents in the Houston area to take advantage of an offer that can't be beat and find your new best friend.  Through Saturday, July 10, 2010, the city is offering half-price adoptions at only $27.50!

   

BARC has experienced a sustained increase in the number of animals turned into the shelter over the last month, with 925 animals in a shelter designed to hold 550.

  BARC is located at 3200 Carr, 77026 and has extended its hours on Thursdays and Saturdays to make it easier for residents of the Houston region to adopt a new pet. 

 

Monday:

         closed

Tuesday:

        11:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

Wednesday:

  11:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

Thursday:

      11:30 a.m. - 7 p.m.

Friday:

           11:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

Saturday:

     noon - 6 p.m.

Sunday:

         noon - 4 p.m.

 

BARC "future pets" are featured every Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Galleria in front of Gap Kids (except July 4th) and on Sunday at PetCo, 12015 NW Freeway, 77092 from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.

 (including July 4th).

If you aren't quite ready for the long-term commitment of pet companionship, please explore fostering an animal.
